Amber Dawn Vatsend, born on October 1st, 1977, to Donald Ray and Susan Kay Vatsend, passed away on April 11th, 2025, at the age of 47 after a courageous battle. Amber grew up in West Valley City and later moved to West Jordan, where she graduated from Bingham High School. Amber was married to Craig Morris (later divorced), with whom she had her wonderful son, Damion Morris.

Amber’s greatest joy and most cherished role in life was being a mom. She loved and cared for others and left an impact on every life she touched. Amber was a light, a joy, and so much fun to be around, and the impact she had will not be forgotten.

Amber had a love and talent for cooking, baking, and showing up for others in more ways than one. She shared her many talents with the world and had a way of making those around her feel loved and special. She saw beauty in everything around her, often capturing the beauty as a talented photographer.

Amber was a dedicated member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and had a strong testimony of the Savior.

Amber is survived by her son, Damion Morris; father, Donald Vatsend; her sisters, Kari Peterson (Kris), Downy Kocherhans (Rick); her brothers, Michael Vatsend, Joseph Vatsend, and many nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends who loved her very deeply. She is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Susan Vatsend.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, April 22, 2025, at 12:00 PM at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 9455 South 4800 West, South Jordan, Utah. You may visit with the family at a viewing before services from 10:00 to 11:45 AM. Interment following services at Memorial Redwood Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah.
