Amy Lou Christensen Peterson, Age 52 passed away at home on April 9, 2024. She was born in Richfield, UT to Quinn Arlie Christensen and Betty Lou Hunt Christensen. In 1992 Amy married Justin Peterson in the Salt Lake Temple. They had four great children together.

Amy was raised in Central Valley UT. Amy was active in clogging from a young age and performed at lagoon and other locations throughout Utah. Later, Amy danced and was a cheerleader at South Sevier High School. Upon graduating High School as well as Seminary in 1990 Amy attended Southern Utah University where she graduated with a bachelor’s degree in education. While Amy attended Southern Utah University she met Justin in their psychology class. After they met, they dated and were married within 6 months. Soon after their marriage they were blessed with their oldest son Braxton and two years later their son Jaden was born. They continued their education and upon graduation they moved to Denver, CO for Justin to continue his education in physical therapy. Upon completion of Justin's physical therapy degree they relocated to Helper, UT where their third son Austin was born.

Amy and Justin were given the opportunity to move to Hurricane, UT for Justin to pursue employment at Dixie Regional Medical Center. They were finally blessed with their fourth and final child Brinley. After Being in Hurricane, UT for five years they moved their family to St. George UT to be closer to Justin's Employment. Once The Peterson children were in school, Amy took the opportunity to pursue her professional career as a teacher in Washington County School District in Family Consumer Science. For eleven years, Amy taught and loved teaching the students at Desert Hills Middle School.

Amy and Justin loved watching their children achieve and excel in sporting events together at Pine View High School. Amy loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. Amy also loved the outdoors, camping, and cooking. She loved traveling with her family to various locations on many trips to Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and several cruises.

Amy loves murder mysteries, Christian music, big foot, gardening, spending time in her pool.

Amy is a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, where she loved serving in primary, relief society, and young women’s. Their home was centered around the Savior Jesus Christ and their love for each other.

Amy is survived by her husband; Justin Boyd Peterson, Washington, UT, Sons and daughters-in-law; Braxton and Nakelle Peterson, Washington, UT, Jaden and Macee Peterson, Augusta, GA, Austin and Jadyn Peterson, Washington, UT, and daughter, Brinley Peterson, Washington, UT. Grandchildren; Asher Quinn Peterson and Paisley J. Peterson. Sisters; Peggy Peterson, Central Valley, UT, Debrah Bezanson, Cedar City, UT, Kathrine Brown, Central Valley, UT. and Brother Terry Quinn Christensen, Central Valley, UT.

Amy is proceeded in death by her parents Quinn Arlie Christensen and Betty Lou Hunt Christensen.

Friends and family are invited to a visitation Sunday, April 14, 2024, from 4:00-6:00 pm at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 S Bluff St., Saint George, UT 84770. A private celebration of Amy’s life will be attended by family on Monday.

Interment will be in the Washington City Cemetery.
