A Celebration of Life
Angela Lynette Shah, a remarkable woman with a heart of gold and a spirit that soared beyond measure, will be honored and cherished in a celebration of her life. Angela was born on August 23, 1977, in Provo, Utah to Lawrence Kirk and Frances Tolman. As the youngest of four sisters, she helped to keep four brothers in line. She graduated from Timpview High School in 1995.
Angela moved to Boston to complete her education. Through her childhood best friend Candi, Angela met her husband Ronak on one of her first nights in town. She graduated from the University of Massachusetts with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting. Angela began a successful career but ultimately set it aside to care for her children. Victor (19) and Diana (16) were her life's work, and they are her masterpieces. Both are greater versions of Angela and Ronak combined: brilliant, ethical, and caring. She loved her children and was so proud of them.
Throughout her marriage Angela lived in various places: Boston, London, Portland, St Louis, and Houston. She visited more than 50 countries and had a long list of places she still wanted to visit.
She was diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer in 2022. She charted a complex and grueling path to cure with aggressive treatment in MD Anderson Houston and Memorial Sloan Kettering New York. On November 5, 2024, she received a liver transplant made possible with a living donation from her beloved superhero brother Matt. This surgery resulted in her finally being cancer-free. Cruelly, she passed away on November 20, 2024 as the result of a sudden complication. Her brother's gift allowed her last days to be like the whole of her life: filled with hope for the future.
Her memory will forever be treasured by her husband Ronak Shah, her father Lawrence Kirk Tolman, her mother Frances Garcia Tolman, her cherished Victor & Diana, and a multitude of friends and family who were touched by her boundless love and generosity.
A funeral service to celebrate Angela's remarkable life will take place at the Anderson & Sons Lone Peak Chapel, 6141 W 11000 N, Highland, Utah on December 7, 2024 at 11:00 am.
As we gather to bid farewell to Angela, let us remember her as she was - a beacon of light and a warrior who faced each challenge with unwavering strength and optimism. Though she may no longer walk amongst us, her spirit will live on in the hearts of all those whose lives she touched. Angela Lynette Shah will forever be remembered for her beautiful soul and the love she shared so freely with the world.
