Anna Prawl, 84, former resident of Doniphan County, KS, and Tooele, UT, died peacefully of natural causes June 12, 2021, in the home of her daughter Phyllis Prawl in Goodland, KS. She was born Dec 24, 1936, in Memphis, TN, to Odin and Willie Mae Dickey. She met and married Phillip Prawl of Severance, KS, while he was stationed with the Navy in Memphis. She loved being a military spouse and living throughout the United States. Phil and Anna had three children and were married 30 years before they divorced. She graduated from Highland Junior College, Highland, KS, then later from Weber State University, Ogden, UT, and earned her Master’s in Social Work (Gerontology) from the University of Utah, Salt Lake City at the age of 50. Anna worked for the Council on Aging, Price, UT and managed an Alzheimer’s Unit in Tucson, AZ. She served as an AmeriCorps Member and volunteered for community organizations throughout her life. Her energy, sense of humor, charisma, and warmth will be missed by all who knew her. She was preceded in death by her parents, older brother Billy, and former spouse Philip Prawl who died just six months ago. She is survived by daughters Phyllis, and Cheryl (spouse Paul Klason), son Pete (spouse Beth) and granddaughter Katelyn as well as her brothers Johnny Ray Dickey of Tucson, AZ and James Dickey (spouse Brenda) of Little Rock, AR, and several nieces and nephews. Her remains will be laid to rest in the Prawl family cemetery in Severance, KS, at a future date.
