Ardyth "Ardie" Vickers Severson

Jul 19, 1932 Jan 13, 2025

Ardyth Vickers Severson passed away in the early morning hours of January 13, 2025, under a beautiful full moon. She was born on July 19, 1932, to loving parents James Herman and Edith Bigler Vickers in Nephi, Utah on her Aunt Laura’s kitchen table. She married her loving husband Sidney H. Severson on December 3, 1953, and were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple.

Ardie will forever be remembered for her love of family and service to others. She touched countless lives and was a friend to all. Mom spent many years serving the youth in her community by working at Holladay, Fortuna and Upland Terrace Elementary Schools and was also involved in the PTA. She was a den mother (it was required, she had 4 sons) and was instrumental in her four sons achieving their Eagle Scout Awards. Her true passion was working in the Young Woman’s Presidency, teaching, coaching, going to camp and toilet papering the neighborhood alongside the girls. She earned her Young Woman’s Recognition Award in 1986 and was very proud of that. Mom loved the youth, and they loved her back. She had many special friendships that came out of her work and service. Her proudest accomplishment was her grandchildren and great grandchildren and never missed an opportunity to support them in their endeavors.

She and Sid enjoyed bowling, golfing, boating, family vacations on their houseboat at Lake Powell, river trips in Jackson Hole, attending U of U basketball games (Go Utes) and working side by side building their beautiful home in Bear Lake. Many memories and amazing times were had by all, and ALL were welcome. Everyone loved Ardie.

She is survived by her four children Sid Paul, Mark (Janet) Jan (Ford) Dean (Carrie) and her Daughter in Law Elizabeth. Eight grandchildren and seven great grandchildren along with many special nephews and nieces who all knew her as Aunt Lolly. She is also survived by her best friends and partners in crime, Margaret Little and Marlene Bullock. She is welcomed home by her husband Sid and loving son Brad along with her parents, brother Merle, sisters Dorine, Patricia and Merci and many more friends and relatives. We’re sure the reunion was spectacular.

We’d like to thank the many workers and friends at Beacon Crest Holladay for the great care of our mom, you all became part of our family. We’d also like to thank Katie and Trista for your kindness and letting her be at peace in her final days.

Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 17, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Holladay 2nd Ward. 2065 East 4675 South, Holladay, Utah. Friends may greet the family from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. Burial will take place at the Vine Bluff Cemetery in Nephi, Utah. She will be laid to rest alongside her husband Sid.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you make donations to Best Friends Animal Society bestfriends.org or redcross.org in honor of the Los Angeles fire victims or a charity of your choosing.
