Arlene Burrows

Jan 5, 1937 Nov 24, 2025

I was born on a cold day, January 5, 1937, to Wyoma Dunn and Rulon Edwin Eames. I was born and raised in beautiful Logan, Utah. I have five brothers and sisters. They are Keith, Glen (Marlene), Marilyn (David), Wyoma (Dick) and Ezra (Marsha). I had a wonderful childhood. My dad had horses and I loved being with those horses and working outside with my dad. I even helped bring in the hay. We always had a large garden, and always ate well in spite of it being post depression years. I did well in school and loved learning. In high school, I was involved with school plays and was a cheerleader in 9th grade. When I graduated from high school, my sister, Wyoma, and I moved to Salt Lake City. There I met my future husband. On August 4, 1958, I married James M. Burrows, known as Jim. We were later sealed in the Salt Lake Temple on June 14, 1974. We were blessed with six precious children: Lori Ann, James Michael, Steven Chris (Nikki), David Alan (Heidi), Jennifer Lee (Kevin) and Mark Edwin (Kim). We had some happy and very fun times, but there were also hard times.

I served in many church callings for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Some of those callings were Primary teacher and In-Service leader, Relief Society Teacher, Young Women's Teacher, many years as the Compassionate Service leader (Mom's spaghetti was known throughout the neighborhood and sometimes requested when she took meals to others) and many faithful years as a visiting teacher.

I am eternally grateful for the great life I was able to spend with my beloved family and friends.

(Kids note: Our mother was an amazing mother, always doing for us and others, not herself. She built her life around her family. The best gift our parents ever gave us was our family of six siblings. We all love each other and love being together. We will miss her terribly, but we know we will be with her again.)

On November 24, 2025, surrounded by all of my children and a few grandchildren, my end greatest wish was fulfilled. I went home to go forward in the Mansions of Heaven with our eternal Father in Heaven and our beloved Savior, Jesus. I know I will be surrounded by those I have loved since the beginning of time, including my parents, siblings and grandchildren who have gone before me. I am survived by my children, 30 grandchildren and their spouses, 30 great grandchildren and their spouses and 10 great great grandchildren. Preceded in death by ex-husband, parents, two brothers, and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held on December 6, 2025. A viewing will be held from 11:00-11:45 am. The service will begin at 12:00 pm. It will be held at Jenkins-Soffe South Valley Mortuary in South Jordan, 1007 W. South Jordan Parkway (10600 S). I will be buried next to my two grandchildren, Kathryn and CJ, in the Larkin Sunset Garden Cemetery, 1950 East 10600 South, Sandy.
