Barbara Ann Perkins

Mar 23, 1954 Sep 18, 2023

Barbara Ann Perkins was 69 years old when she slipped quietly into the open arms of her Savior that she knew so well on September 18, 2023 in Lehi, UT. She passed from this life surrounded by love and family in much the same way she was received. Born on March 23, 1954 in Mesa, AZ to Chester Martin Perkins and Laverta Brewer Perkins, she was the lucky 7th child of 10 children and she found refuge and strength throughout her life among her parents, siblings, and her lovingly devoted family. She was married September 8,1973 and February 22, 1984. She is the beloved mother to her 3 children Jana Power, Gabriel Power, Matthew Sorensen, and cherished grandmother to her 15 grandchildren.

Barbara engaged in music, studies, crafts, and cooking. She is known to have sewn many formal items including wedding dresses and one rarely left her home without the joy of being fed. Barbara employed skills in banking, medical office management, as well as executive duties to senior VP staff. She is celebrated for her immaculate skills in decor and was an impeccable host. She has served in numerous callings as a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints including a recent service mission in the Mt. Timpanogos Temple and she was a devoted ministering sister. Of all her accomplishments she is most pleased with seeing her children become successful parents and raising their children in the gospel of Jesus Christ. To know her was to be buoyed up by her, a forever friend. She was your easy champion, strictest confidant, unwavering advocate, and fiercest fan. Her love and devotion endures and we are bound by eternal ties.

She is survived by her siblings: Dean & Cheri Perkins, Lynn & Terry Perkins, Doyle Shumway, Carl & Debby Perkins, Betty Burk, Randall Iverson, and Richard Perkins; her children: Jana Power, Gabe & Emily Power, and Matt & Lyndsi Sorensen; former spouses Jim Power and Alvin Sorensen; her grandchildren: Connor & Kora, Chandler, Jaeden, Payton, Porter, Carson, Ty, Kenton, Kaylie, Weston, Mauri, Ruby, Emmaline, Charlotte, and forthcoming granddaughter; her nieces and nephews, and her dear friends.

She was preceded in death by parents Chester and Laverta; sisters Denna, Marlene, and Susan; brothers Danny, James, and Ray Burk.
