Barbara Krinke Miller Woolf

May 25, 1953 Oct 3, 2023

Barbara Woolf passed away on October 3, 2023 in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Barbara was born in Bowman, North Dakota to Betty Hansen Krinke and Vern Oliver Krinke on May 25, 1953. She is survived by her siblings, Glen Krinke (Robin), Mari Stilinovich-Oliveto (Dominic), Jane Gershman (Jeffrey), Lise Freeman (Paul), and Grant Krinke. Barbara was pre-deceased by her parents, and her loving brothers Hjalmar Krinke and John Krinke. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews, whom she adored.

Barbara graduated from University of Utah with a BS Degree in Journalism. She worked in public relations and journalism for her entire career. She lived in northern California for many years, moving back to Utah in 2007. After her retirement, she was a substitute teacher in the Jordan School District, a position she loved passionately.

She was so creative, and had a very inquisitive mind. She loved meeting new people and interviewing them for news stories, and made new friends everywhere she went. She would take off on a whim to New York to see a Broadway show, and always made new friends there.

Her pets were of utmost importance to her, especially her dog, Charlie. He was her darling naughty companion everywhere she went.

Barbara’s family is greatly appreciative of the loving care provided to her by her extended family of friends at Legacy Village (Taylorsville) for many years, and also to the loving staff at Meadow Peak Rehabilitation for her most recent care.

Viewing and visitation to be held at Goff Mortuary, 8090 So. State Street, Sandy, Utah on Friday, October 6th, 2023 between 6:00-8:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation on Barbara’s behalf to the National Alliance on Mental Illness, or to your local Humane Society.

Memorial service and interment will be held in Carson, North Dakota in Spring, 2024.

– Oscar Hammerstien, from the musical Carousel
