Beverly Jean Furniss Fresh has been released from her mortal journey and is safely in the arms of her Savior, Jesus Christ. Born June 5, 1932, to Vernal Stephen Furniss and Blanche Ada Blundell in Pocatello, Idaho, where she spent her growing-up years with her eight siblings. Pocatello, Idaho, is also where she met and married the love of her life, Merlin O. Fresh. On December 29, 1950, they would have just celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary. They were sealed for time and eternity on what would have been their 50th anniversary in 2000 in the Jordan River Temple.
We are so proud of her courageous and selfless decision to be set free from the pain and trials of this earthly journey. She fought hard until the very end. She has left an enduring legacy of faith, hard work, independence, and especially love. She shared her love with all she knew. She was stubborn and independent to a fault, which allowed her to live on her own until the very end at the age of 93 and a half years.
Her talents include sewing, embroidery, and crocheting. She served her family by using these talents to make wedding dresses, pillowcases, little girls' dresses, and dress-up dresses for her granddaughters. At the end, crocheting became a way of life, leaving behind a blanket for each great-grandchild.
She worked for many years as a supervisor in the medical industry, but her greatest accomplishment was her family. She is a mother of five, a grandmother to 29, a great-grandmother to 45, and a great-great-grandmother to four.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Merlin, and two boys, DeLynn Fresh and Elden Fresh.
She is survived by her three girls, Peggy (Wesley) Elder, Patty (John) Fullmer, and Debbie (Richard) Oldham, and all her grandchildren. She is also survived by the final four siblings, Gloria, Mary, Dick, and Shirley.
She quietly served and shared her faith through her Christ-like love.
