Carl Melvin Foote

Feb 11, 1946 Feb 16, 2025

Carl Melvin Foote returned peacefully to his heavenly home on February 16, 2025. Born February 11, 1946, Carl was always a very quiet man, but those who knew him knew of his love of Western movies and the Utah Jazz. He married Marjorie Mae Barton on June 15, 1973. They were sealed in the Ogden, Utah Temple on March 28, 1989. Together they had four children, Chad, Carla, John and Ben. Carl is survived by his wife, Marjorie; his daughter, Carla; (spouse Todd Newport) and his sons, John (Rebecca) and Ben (Jessica); along with twelve grandchildren; and nine great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, Maurine Lister and Charles Melvin Foote; along with his son, Chad Carl Foote.

His children remember the strong work ethic he taught, the hard work on the farm and teaching them to ride horses. His grandchildren remember the times he helped with math homework, and his ability to untangle any knot. Many fond memories were made watching Little House on the Prairie together, and Perry Mason. He worked many odd jobs throughout his life, and dealt with many hard trials. His family will miss his odd sense of humor, and the way he always tried to make others laugh. He was a stubborn man, and his family admired his dedication to the Gospel, with his service in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints being a highlight of his life. Many evenings were spent diligently folding the church building’s flag, only to hang it up again the next day. He served as a stake missionary, ward librarian, and many other callings, each of which he magnified to the best of his ability. He approached his family life the same way, teaching his children how to play many board and card games, along with his dedication to the care of his children.

The family would like to thank Rocky Mountain and Willow Springs Care Center for the care and love provided to Carl in his last few months.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations to offset funeral expenses.

Please reach out to Carla or Marjorie for information; or call the mortuary to make a direct donation.
