Carol Irene Tassie was born July 30, 1939 in Centerfield, Utah to Floyd A. Tassie and Dorothy M. Miller Tassie. She attended Cyprus High School in Magna, Utah.

On December 23, 1954, she married Roger R. Wilson in Salt Lake City, Utah. To this union was born 5 children, Michell, Randy, Darcey, Bret, and Wendy. They lived in Salt Lake City, UT; Burley, ID; Tonapha, NV; and Pierre, SD. After Roger’s passing in 1995, Carol stayed in Pierre for a few more years before moving to Rapid City to be closer to her middle daughter Darcey in 2003, then moved back to Pierre in 2005 to be near her children Randy, Bret, and Wendy. In 2015 Carol moved back to Rapid City due to health reasons and to be closer to her three youngest children.

Carol enjoyed being a stay-at-home mother while her children were growing up, but also held odd jobs throughout her life to include working for Public Safety for the State of SD and as her husband's right hand at his video store, Wilson’s Video, in Pierre. She enjoyed holding many callings in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints to include Relief Society Councilor, Compassionate Service Leader, Relief Society Teacher, and Temple Worker at the Bismarck ND Temple. She enjoyed spending time with her family, co-workers, and church families no matter where she lived. She also loved making clothes for us as we grew up, making Halloween costumes, crocheting, embroidery, and traveling to many different states over her lifetime. She also enjoyed getting together with her high school friends (The Club Girls) once a year to let loose and reminisce. But most of all, she loved spending as much time with each of her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren as she possibly could.

Carol will be remembered for many different things, but mostly for the love and care she gave to her family.

Carol is survived by her children: Michell (Steve) Harwarth of Mound, MN, Randy R. (Bev) Wilson of Pierre, SD, Darcey (Clarence) Gunderson, Bret Wilson, Wendy (Ted) Backlund all of Rapid City, SD. Twelve grandchildren Sarah Becher, Kelsey Trimble, Matthew Kingrey, Christina Wilson, Kory Wilson, Jessica Hamada, Danielle Wilson, Makayla Kjerstad, Miranda Trautman, Ashley Jochim, Terah Backlund, and Nathaniel Backlund. And eight great-grandchildren. Two sisters, Mariam Leavitt of Tooele, UT and Judy (Joe) Busath of Williams, CA. with many nieces and nephews scattered across the globe.

Carol was preceded in death by her husband Roger, parents Floyd and Dorothy Tassie, sister Beverly Webb, brother Rolland Tassie, and sister Phyllis Eaton.
