Carolyn Larsen Hafen, a beloved mother, wife, sister, grandmother, aunt, and friend, returned home to her Heavenly Father at the age of 79, on June 7, 2024. She was born on March 24, 1945 in Ephraim, Utah to Lee E. Anderson and Sena Lenore Anderson. She married the love of her life, Briant Lewis Larsen, on February 9, 1963. They were later sealed in the Manti Temple on June 27, 2006. After his passing on January 27, 2004, she married her loving sweetheart Donald Neil Hafen on April 5, 2010.
Carolyn had two wonderful daughters, Melissa Anderson (Blake Anderson), Kimberly (Mike) Godfrey, eight loving grandchildren, Jeremy Olson, Mikelle Godfrey, Jaden Olson, Breeann Anderson, Kylee Anderson, Kacie Godfrey, Briant Anderson, Hailey Godfrey, three adorable great-
grandchildren, and many caring nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father (Lee), mother (Lenore), husband (Briant), brother (Gaylen), sister (Jean), and brother (Kent).
Carolyn was a faithful member of the church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. Over the years she had many callings. She served as a Primary Secretary, Sports Director, Nursery Leader, and Ward Indexing Specialist. She was also called as a missionary with her husband, Donald, at the Bishop’s Store House. However, the calling that brought her the most joy was serving as a Primary Teacher for 10 years. She had a great love for children, which was why she greatly enjoyed her calling, as well as her job. She worked for Canyons School District as a nutrition worker for 26 years. Serving meals to the children was her favorite part of the day.
Carolyn had many amazing talents and hobbies. She enjoyed sewing, crocheting, cooking, gardening, scrapbooking, puzzling, and creating diamond art. In her spare time, she loved fishing and camping with her family, playing Bunco with her friends and daughters, and taking evening walks while enjoying sunset and nature. Carolyn was also a pro at people-watching. She could spend hours, no matter where she was, watching people on the go. She especially loved people-watching if she could do it while eating ice cream. Carolyn loved ice cream and strawberry shakes.
Above all, Carolyn loved her daughters, Melissa and Kim. Her daughters were her greatest joy in the world and her best friends. The three of them were always together, even until the very end. Carolyn also loved her grandchildren and great-grandchildren, providing them all with as much love as a grandmother could possibly give.
Carolyn was incredibly kind, loving, and generous. Everyone who met Carolyn instantly loved her for her sweet soul. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Carolyn was cared for with love and devotion by her husband, Donald and her daughters, Kim and Melissa, through a difficult year of illness up until her passing. Carolyn’s family would also like to extend gratitude to Aspire Hospice, especially Rose and Ellen, who provided much comfort and assistance to Carolyn and her family in her last months of life.
