It is with great sadness that the family of Catherine Gull Holman announce her passing on June 29, 2024. Catherine loved taking care of children and was a mother to all she met.
Catherine was born November 23, 1946, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Orland Dean Gull and Helen Judd Gull. She married Randall John Holman in the St. George Temple on November 21, 1970.
“Let me draw you a picture”
Catherine spent the first 10 years of her life in Sandy, Utah before moving with her family to St. George, Utah. She graduated from Dixie High School and received her Associates from Dixie College. After college she moved back to Salt Lake City where she worked at ZCMI on State Street. She met her future eternal companion, Randall Holman, while working at ZCMI.
Catherine was a supreme stay at home mom taking care of not only her kids, but neighbors’ and friends’ kids as well. Her bottled peaches and cherries were unsurpassed, and the smell of homemade bread was a regular in her home. She sewed clothes for her kids, a skill she learned from her own mother, and used her cleaning skills to start her own business. She loved going to church and serving in the Primary of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints as well as alongside her husband in the library in her later years. She had a very sarcastic sense of humor which always kept people on their toes.
Catherine is preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Randall John Holman. She is survived by her children Colette (Robert) Rawlins, Patricia Holman, Lynette Holman, Scott Dale (Amy) Holman, and Kelly Dean (Kimmy) Holman, siblings Helene (Eddie) Nelson, Richard (Barbara) Gull, Pauline (David) Isom, Kenneth (Becky) Gull, Kristine (Jeffrey) Groat, Steven (Debra) Gull, Michael (Marlene) Gull, Maidalyn Gull, Rochelle (Robert) Adamson, “D.J.” (Alicia) Gull, her 10 grandchildren and one beautiful great grandson. She is also preceded in death by her parents Orland Dean and Helen Gull and her son-in-law Robert Owen Rawlins.
