Cherylan Tower passed away at Ashley Regional Medical Center on January 2, 2024 at the age of 61 due to a stroke.
Born on August 17, 1962 to Helen Williams in Santa Cruz, California, Cherylan spent her early years in California, Nevada, and Utah with her step-father Richard, brother Richard Jr., step-brother, and many cousins, aunts, and uncles. In high school, she was a championship swimmer and accomplished visual artist.
As an adult, she explored a variety of careers including Cosmetology, Traffic Supervisor and Coordinator, and Nursing—of which she was most proud. She moved with her Mother, Brother, and first child, Kenneth, between California, Texas and Utah.
In Utah, she met Anthony, with whom she had Steele and Cheyenne, spending many years together until their separation in the early 2000s.
She had a passion for crochet, a hobby she learned from her grandmother, creating intricately designed pieces for friends and family. She also took great joy in horseback riding, landscaping, and bully-breed dogs.
Cheryl had a hard life, battling body dysmorphia issues, depression, poverty, anxiety, and addiction. She was no saint, with a mercurial disposition, and was quick to anger. Even so, she was a fierce defender of her dogs and children.
Her final years were spent in Vernal, UT, alongside her husband David Marden, and her pocket bully, Demi.
She was preceded in death by her Mother, Helen. She is survived by her husband, David; brother, Richard Jr.; children Kenneth, Steele, Cheyenne, and their spouses; step-children, grandchildren, nephew, cousins, and friends.
A Celebration of Life will be held for Cherylan at a later date, under the direction of the Phillips Ashley Valley Funeral Home. Please consider donating directly to the funeral home to help the family with the final costs.
