Claire passed away peacefully on February 4, 2022. She was born on March 4,1924 to Parley P. and Leona C. Allen Smith at St. Marks Hospital third child of ten.
Claire grew up in Draper and attended Draper Elementary from 1st to 9th grade. Graduated from Jordan High School May 1942. Worked at Draper Poultry, the Small Arms Plant during WWII, Hyland Dairy, Deseret Medical and retired from Becton Dickinson June 1987.
Married LeRoy W. Cordner June 6, 1946. Had three children, Dale Cordner, Marlene (Robert) Conrad and Sharlene (Jeffery) TeSelle. After marriage she lived in Murray, and most of her life in Sandy in the home her husband built.
She was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings and was a faithful visiting teacher. She enjoyed attending the temple with her friends.
Her favorite hobbies were cooking, sewing, knitting, crocheting, and embroidery. There were few crafts she wouldn’t try. She loved reading a good book.
She liked her vacations with family. Travelled throughout the west with her husband. One fun trip was a vacation driving from Florida to Minnesota.
Survived by her children, brother Paul (Shirley) Smith, brother-in-law Clifford Hales. Eight grandchildren and ten great grandchildren.
Claire was preceded in death by her husband in 1980, siblings Helen Searcy Burke, Marion (Dan) Damjanovich, Deon (Darwin) Bagley, Allen (Ramona) Smith, baby Smith, Willis (Lois) Smith, Carolyn (George) Showell, and LaRae Hales. Grandson Matthew Conrad.
Visitation will be Saturday, February 12, 2022 from 10:00 – 10:45 AM. Graveside service at 11:00 AM. All services will be at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 E. Dimple Dell Road (10600 South) Sandy, Utah.
