Clayton Horton, 68, born on November 25, 1955, in Suffolk, Virginia, passed away of natural causes on July 5, 2024.

Clay was the son of Velma Horton and Willie Wiggins. As a teenager, he moved to Salt Lake City, Utah, to attend Job Corps, soon joined by his brother, John Willie Horton. Clay made Salt Lake City his home for the rest of his life.

Living as a bachelor, Clay never married or had children of his own. However, he was a phenomenal uncle to his nephews and nieces, earning the affectionate title of "Uncle" from many others. Clay was a mentor to many and a pillar of his local community.

He dedicated over 35+ years to working at Zions Bank while furthering his education, eventually retiring from the bank. Clay also volunteered at Habitat for Humanity and contributed to Shriners Children’s Hospital throughout his life.

Clay was known for his love of crochet, often gifting his handmade creations, affectionately known as "Clay’s Crafts," to those he met. He had a passion for cars, particularly his '64 Impala, and enjoyed attending car shows, where he made many long-time friends. He also loved camping, the thrill of auctions, and spending time with his loved ones.

Clay is survived by his sister, Claretta Horton, along with numerous nephews, nieces, family and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother, Velma Horton, his father, Willie Wiggins, and his brother, John Willie Horton.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, August 3rd, from 6:00 to 9:30 PM at The Azelea Event Venue located at 11277 S. Kestrel Rise Rd. South Jordan, UT. 84009.

Uncle Clay will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
