CoDele Cook Earley Ridd, 94, of Holladay, Utah, passed away peacefully on 17 June 2026, of complications incident to age.

CoDele was born March 9, 1932, Salt Lake City, Utah, to Durwood and Maxine (Patty) Cook. She was the third of four children and the oldest daughter. She attended Holladay Elementary and graduated from Granite High School.

On June 27, 1952, CoDele married Robert (Bob) Eardley, her eternal sweetheart, in the Logan, Utah temple. They were happily married for 44 years. After Bob’s passing in 1996, CoDele married her dear friend from high school, Merrill K. Ridd, on July 2, 2004. They were married until Merille’s passing in 2024.

Bob & CoDele were the parents of five children; Denise (John) Lambert, Midvale, UT; Rand (Kristi) Eardley, Holladay, UT; Leesa Corkrey, Taylorsville, UT; Kip Earley, Holladay, UT; & Regan (Teresa) Earley, Meridian, ID.

CoDele was a fabulous homemaker, cook and seamstress. Her home was an extension of herself, always serene and lovely, with everything having a place. She loved and supported her husband and her children with all of her heart; she was the rock of the family. She had a great ability for making everyone around her feel important, comfortable, and loved. She was a great friend to many.

CoDele was a valiant member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings from den mother to Mission Primary President.

CoDele lived many places in her lifetime. However, Holladay, Utah, is where she was raised and where she returned to live for the last part of her life, below her beloved twin peaks.

CoDele enjoyed plants and watching things grow. She loved her orchids and tended to them carefully; talking to them and encouraging them to bloom.

She had amazing secretarial and organizational skills. After raising her family, she worked outside of the ho me. She worked for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints as an Executive Secretary for 15 years in several departments.

CoDele is survived by her 4 children; Denise, Rand, Leesa, & Kip, 14 grandchildren, & 23 great-grandchildren. She also has 5 stepchildren from her marriage to Merrill.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her brothers, Thor (Mike) Cook and Rodney Cook, and her sister, Loree Shields, both of her husbands, her son, Regan Eardley, two granddaughters and one grandson.

A viewing will be held on Thursday, 25 June, 2026, from 10:00am-11:45am. There will be an “inside-graveside” service held from 12:00pm-12:30pm at Memorial Holladay-Cottonwood Mortuary, 4670 South Highland Drive, Holladay, followed by the dedication of the grave at Memorial Holladay Cemetery, 4900 South Memory Lane (1990 E.), Holladay.

The family would like to give special thanks to Trenaisa Nay, APRN, and the staff of Sunrise Senior Center in Holladay for the loving care of their mother over the past 14 months.
