SGT Dale Kevin Wright

Dale Kevin Wright, 66, of Bountiful, Utah passed away July 30th 2024 while surrounded by his family and friends that he loved and cared for unconditionally. He was born March 4th 1958 to Ronald and Carol Wright in Salt Lake City, Utah. He was right in the middle of his two sisters Ronda Wright Ballard “big sister” and Roselie Wright “little sister” both of which always held a special place in his heart.

Dale dedicated his life to service, enlisting in the U.S. Army and deploying to Panama to help secure the Panama Canal as a Military police officer, joined the Utah National Guard and deployed with the 625th MP Company to support Operation Desert Storm, served as a Police Officer for Woods Cross City (Utah), and eventually finishing out his career working for the U.S. Postal Service. Mixed in-between all of those and often at the same time he held numerous additional odd jobs to provide the best possible life for his family.

In his very limited free time, he enjoyed hunting and fishing with his son and two brother in-laws Todd and Brad Gonnuscio both of which he always considered to be the brothers he never had. His eventual retirement brought on a whole slew of hobbies he “injoyed” like: riding his Harley, tending to his bees, all types woodworking, taking care of Val’s “pain in the butt chickens”, and most recently operating his new Laser cutting machine.

Although his life of service eventually took its toll on his health, you’d always see him with his smile shining through his mustache while smirking at you though the top of his glasses. He would help anyone wherever he was needed and truly was an inspiration through sacrifice, work ethic, caring spirit, patience, and tolerant demeanor.

Dale is survived by the “Love of His Life” and wife of 40 years Valerie Wright, daughter Heather Andersen (Russell), son Ty Schwulst (Jen), four grandsons Hunter Andersen, Ryder Schwulst, Benjamin Andersen, and Sylas Schwulst, his best buddy and loyal companion Pickles, and many nieces, nephews, aunts, and uncles. He was loved and truly will be missed.

Graveside Services will be held Aug. 5th 2024, 10:00AM, Bountiful City Cemetery
