David Paul Asay, age 63, passed away peacefully surrounded by those who loved him on April 13, 2023 at his home in Sandy, Utah. David was born on December 29, 1959 to Richard and Annette Asay.
Dave lived a life full of many adventures and experiences which he enjoyed and loved to share them with others. He was an EMT, firefighter for the BLM, owned a fitness repair business, gave river rafting tours on the Snake River, a ranger in the Tetons and most of all was his love of being part of the Park West Ski Patrol.
His loves included rock climbing, toy collecting, woodworking, and his favorite was the many concerts of the Grateful Dead he attended.
He was a caring person who helped others and his favorite was making and serving sandwiches for the homeless every Sunday.
Survived by his siblings Sherrie (Jack) Love, Steve (Jeanne) Asay, Brent (Wendy) Asay, Linda (Jeff) Rupp; his many nieces and nephews, he lovingly called the Rugrats. Preceded in death by his parents, and his best friend and loyal companion Echo.
Dave’s family would like to thank the staff at Harmony Hospice, especially Jamie, Shannon, Maddie and Laurie for their devoted care and love of Dave. And the many who cared and loved him at his home in Sandy.
Dave lived his life on his own terms.
