Donna was born on September 9, 1940, in Salt Lake City, Utah, completing the family of Leland and Columbia Argyle. She was their 4th daughter. Donna was raised in West Bountiful where she attended and graduated from Bountiful High School. After high school, she worked at Bryce Canyon Lodge as a waitress in the dining room for 3 years and then attended BYU for 2 years.

In 1962, a friend introduced Donna to a newly returned missionary named Glenn Wood. It was love at first sight and they were married April 12, 1962 in the Salt Lake Temple. They made their home on 500 South in Bountiful where they were blessed with three sons, Scott, Lyndy, and Brett. After seven years they moved to Farmington where they were blessed with another son Brad.

Donna’s boys were her greatest joy. She was the ultimate ‘Boy Mom’. She remembered always welcoming turtles, birds, chipmunks, live fish or other varmints that her boys would bring home. She taught them to bake her famous brownies and she made dinner every night. The boys knew that 6:00pm was dinner time and would come running. Her boys loved the outdoors and she encouraged them to spend time hiking, exploring and hunting. All four of her boys achieved their Eagle Scout awards and served honorable missions.

Donna honored many family traditions such as trips to Idaho on Memorial Day, picnics up Farmington Canyon, root beer floats on Sunday nights and canning fruits and vegetables every summer.

Donna has always been proud of her pioneer heritage and made sure her boys and her grandchildren knew the stories of their ancestors.

Donna was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. She happily and diligently served in various callings during her life. One of her favorite was teaching the Young Women. Her and Glenn served as ordinance workers in the Bountiful Temple for six years and also served as missionaries at the Church Historic Sites in St. George, Utah. Glenn and Donna were a remarkable pair. They loved to travel and see the world and formed many friendships along the way.

Donna is preceded in death by her mother, father, two sisters, Karleen Winegar and Doris Keith, and grandson Porter Brad Wood. Donna is survived by her sister Lavinia and many nieces and nephew’s who Donna loved and in turn loved her.

She will be deeply missed by her husband Glenn and her boys: Scott (Leanne), Lyndy (Kim), Brett (Angie), and Brad (Casey). 16 Grandchildren and 24 Great-Grandchildren and two more on the way.

The family wishes to express their heartfelt thanks for The Caregiver Support Network and Visiting Angels for the kind and loving way they cared for Donna.
