Dora Jean Stucki Lythgoe

Jun 16, 1935 Jun 1, 2026

Dora Jean Stucki Lythgoe, age 90, of Sandy, Utah, passed away on June 1, 2026 at Sunrise Assisted Living with her devoted husband by her side.

Born on June 16, 1935, in St. George, Utah, Dora was the beloved daughter of Robert and Lillie Stucki. She was raised in Overton, Nevada, and later attended LDS Business College and Brigham Young University, where she studied business and shorthand.

She married her soul mate Boyd, on Sept. 11, 1959 and have been inseparable since. He says that everything he is today is because of her love, devotion and support. He has loved being by her side always through good times and bad and loves her dearly. Together they lovingly raised three boys and one girl.

Dora devoted her life to her family. A loving wife, mother, grandmother, and friend, she found her greatest joy in caring for others and helping those she loved to succeed. She didn’t live for herself; she lived for other people. Her dream was to help her family to live their dreams. She was the steady foundation of her home, rising early each day to care for her husband and children, preparing meals, creating traditions, and making holidays memorable.

She faithfully served in many capacities throughout her life, including as a Primary teacher, Merrie Miss leader, and in the Relief Society presidency. She loved children and was completely in her element as she served, taught and cared for them.

Dora was known for her strong faith in God and Jesus Christ, her tireless work ethic, and her deep concern for the happiness, comfort, and well-being of others. She had a gift for making people feel important, always asking questions, listening intently, and celebrating the accomplishments of those around her. She was often the first person family members wanted to call with good news because they knew she would share in their excitement.

She enjoyed reading, cross-stitching, crocheting, making baby blankets, cooking hot meals, and spending time with her family. She and Boyd enjoyed following the U of U gymnastics and following them to watch them compete. They enjoyed many places that Boyd’s work took him including Hawaii and Canada. Independent, playful, and endlessly supportive, she always found reasons to laugh and brought warmth and kindness wherever she went.

More than anything, Dora will be remembered for the love she freely gave, the unwavering faith she kept, and the countless lives she strengthened through her quiet acts of service and devotion.

Dora is survived by her loving husband Boyd J. Lythgoe, son Kevin Lythgoe (Stacie), her daughter Tania Frischknecht (Mike), her son Darin Lythgoe (Maren), and the family of her late son Boyd Lythgoe (Robin), 17 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren, her sister Sharlene Blake, and many nieces, nephews and friends who love her dearly.

Preceded in death by her parents, sister Connie, son Boyd and son-in-law Mac.
