Fairie Flay Tuft Hawkins

Fairie died peacefully at her home, Saturday Morning, October 11, 2025. Fairie was one of eight children, born in Lawrence, UT to Hans and Vivian Tuft. The family moved to Murray, UT in her school age years. She graduated from Murray High and then went on to Beauty School. She married Howard Anderson and they raised their three children, Celeste, Norman, and Camille. They lost their stillborn daughter, April.

She opened her own Beauty Shop in her home in Cottonwood Heights and was the local hairdresser for 36 years. That’s how she came to be known as the “Hair Fairy”. She loved to dance with her friends and siblings at the Murray Arts Center, the MAC. She also lived in Boise, ID for eight years to be close to family in that area.

When she moved to Fairview, UT she became a Teacher’s Aide at the Mt. Pleasant Elementary, helping students with their reading for several years.

She loved all her grandkids coming to visit and they all loved spending time at the “Ranch”.

She was the last surviving sibling, and is survived by her sister-in-law Nadene, and her three children Celeste (Terry) Curtis, Norm (Sandy) Anderson, and Camille Jensen, and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, October 17, 2025 at 1:00 p.m. in the Fairview 1st Ward Chapel with a visitation from 11:00 - 12:30 p.m. prior to services at the church. Interment in the Fairview City Cemetery. Online condolences and Live Stream Link at rasmussenmortuary.com in her obituary.
