Frank Harold Arnold, born on October 1, 1934, in Ogden, Utah, passed away peacefully on June 8, 2024, at his home in West Jordan, Utah, at the age of 89. He was preceded in death by his parents, Gervase and Maxine Arnold, and his brothers, Gene and Earl Arnold.

Frank is survived by his beloved wife, Jane Bee (Wright) Arnold, his children: Kelly and the late JohnFrank Jenkins, Kristyn and Kelley Hansen, Kippline and Dan Deka, Gibson Arnold, Kaline and Logan Rees; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Frank's journey began in Ogden, but he soon moved to Pocatello, Idaho, where he found his passion for sports. His first job at the age of nine was at Halliwell Park, the home of the Pocatello Cardinals, where he was a popcorn vendor. By the time he was 12 years old, he was commissioner of stadium vendors. Despite never making his high school basketball team, his resilience and love for the game persisted. He went on to excel in baseball and basketball at Idaho State University, setting the stage for over 30 years of a distinguished coaching career.

His early coaching years across Idaho and Oregon paved the way to prestigious roles, including being an assistant coach under John Wooden at UCLA during Coach Wooden’s final four years-learning from the best and contributing to three NCAA championships. His dream job came calling at Brigham Young University, where he led the team to multiple conference championships and BYU’s only NCAA Elite 8 showing, cementing his legacy in collegiate sports.

Frank’s notable coaching achievements also included serving as an Assistant Coach for the USA All-Star Team, participating in basketball diplomacy in China, being a member of the USA Olympic Basketball Team Selection Committee for two Olympics, and holding positions within the American Basketball Association of the USA and the National Association of Basketball Coaches.

After retiring from coaching, Frank dedicated 11 years to Franklin Covey, impacting collegiate athletic programs nationwide with his expertise in time management, exemplifying his talents in living a life driven by priorities and purpose.

Frank loved to travel and had the opportunity to see the world, both with his team and family. Some of his fondest memories were returning to Germany and Switzerland many times with Bee and documenting those memories and photos into treasured family albums. When Frank had free time, you could find him in the garage workshop surrounded by sawdust, as he was an avid woodworker. Whether building a bookcase or their family log cabin, Frank loved to work with his hands.

Frank was a man of faith and deeply devoted to his love of the Lord and the teachings of Jesus Christ. He generously devoted his time and talents to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, serving in various capacities. Frank put thoughtful and joyous effort into all his service opportunities, including as a teacher, high counselor, bishop, ordinance temple worker and serving two senior couple missions with his companion Bee.

Frank’s life was marked by his sincere love, loyalty, and dedication to his wife Bee, to his family, his faith, his friends, and the many communities he served. He leaves behind a legacy of perseverance, leadership, integrity, and compassion.

Viewing and Memories will be held on Friday, June 14th from 7:00 PM to 8:30 PM.

Funeral services will be conducted on Saturday, June 15th at 11:00 AM, with a viewing prior from 9:00 AM to 10:45 AM.

Both services will be held at Garden Cove Ward Building:

Interment will follow at Larken Sunset Gardens Cemetery:
