Frank Jay Bilanzich

Jan 16, 1959 May 9, 2026

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our favorite "old man," Frank Jay Bilanzich. Born January 16, 1959, in Murray, Utah to Frank Bilanzich Sr. and Beverly Mauss, he passed away in his home in his bed next to his devoted wife, on the morning of May 9th, 2026.

After struggling with so much over the years, we are relieved he is no longer in pain and is enjoying his garden in the sky. Anyone who knew him knows he was a hardworking, loving, devoted husband, father, grandpa, son, brother, scout master, coach, and friend.

A devout member of the LDS Church, he served an LDS mission in New Zealand and married his wife in the Salt Lake Temple 45 years ago. Throughout his life he served in numerous church callings and thoroughly enjoyed coaching sports, camping, fishing, hunting, gardening, and cooking with his BBQ, Dutch ovens, or smoker. Last year he retired after 42 years working at Moog Aircraft. He held several positions and everyone there knew he had the answers when others did not. All these things gave him many friends over the years, but his family meant everything to him, and he meant everything to us.

Frank is survived by his loving wife Lorilyn, daughter Lorinda (Mike), sons Josh (Chanel), Ben (McCall), Jason (Nikka) and 13 grandchildren. Also, his mother Beverly, brothers Mark (Laura), Chris (Michelle), and Tim as well as his in-laws (Floyd and Marilyn and all the Bateman family).

Preceded in death by his father (Frank Bilanzich) and brother (Bryan Bilanzich)and stepfather (Raymond C. Mauss).

The family expresses a special thanks and appreciation to the wonderful staff at St. Mark’s Hospital Wound Care Clinic, as well as Kacie Delgado and Dr. Chamberlain at St. Mark’s Hospital. They showed Frank loving care and respect while he fought for his health. Also, Pointe Meadows Rehab, whose skilled nursing side cared for him for several months last year. While the food wasn’t great, there were many people who cared a lot about him.

Lastly, to the close friends and neighbors who helped Frank at all hours of the day and night: we can’t thank you enough for caring about him the way you did. Thank you!

Funeral services will be held Thursday May 21st at the LDS church house located at 981 East 5555 South SLC, UT at 11am

Viewings will be held in the same location on Wednesday, May 20th from 6pm to 8pm and on Thursday, May 21st from 10 – 10:45am prior to the funeral at 11:00
