My Sunshine is now an Angel of light from the heavens.
Gail Jean Prows Hansen has passed through the veil into the loving arms of her parents and loved ones.
“They whispered, 'You cannot withstand the storm' she whispered back, 'I am the storm.'”
Gail was born November 12, 1952, to Eugene and Dorothy Prows in Salt Lake City, UT. She died at her home in South Jordan on January 20, 2023, at age 70, from Pancreatic cancer. Gail loved hiking and biking on trails in the great outdoors. She also loved to compete in running events around the country. She traveled to many wonderful destinations including Italy, China, Singapore, Thailand, Mexico, Hawaii, and Alaska. She also loved going cross country together with her husband and family in their RV. Some of her favorite hobbies were painting, needle work and Golf. She was always on the go.
She was a Registered Nurse for 35 years. She worked as an ER Nurse, an Instacare Nurse, Home Health Care, Ask a Nurse, and she spent most of her career as a Gastro Intestinal Nurse at Alta View Hospital and St. George Endoscopy. She thoroughly enjoyed caring for others.
She is a member of the Church of Latter-day Saints. She filled various callings and most recently 10 years as an addiction recovery missionary. She was also the mission coordinator for part of that time. She joins her parents and grandparents in Heaven. For a time, she leaves her husband Jim (James William Hansen), children Teri Inclan, Christopher Martinez (Kristina), David Butters(Janet), her step children Jasen Hansen (Kari), Tarina Bolden (Paul), Tami Bohin (Steve), Taunie Anderson (James). She also leaves 30 grandkids and 4 great grand kids whom she loved very much. A viewing will be held on Thursday, January 26th from 6:00pm-8:00pm at the ward building located at 4484 Willoughby Dr. South Jordan. A memorial service will be held in her honor on Friday, January 27th at 12 noon, at the same location. There will be a viewing proceeding at 11:00am. Interment will be at Memorial Cemetery, located at 6500 S. Redwood Rd. West Jordan, Utah 84123.
