George Earl Gadd

George Earl Gadd, lovingly known as the grandfather who saved his granddaughter from a bear, passed away peacefully at the age of 92 on April 13, 2025, in South Jordan, Utah.

Born to George and Genevieve Gadd, George lived a life full of love, adventure, and dedication. He married his sweetheart, Pat Whiteley, on February 14, 1952, and together they were later sealed in the Salt Lake City Temple. Their union spanned an incredible 73 years, a testament to their enduring love and commitment.

George graduated from Bingham High School and attended Brigham Young University. He proudly served his country for two years in Trieste, Italy, as part of the U.S. Army. His professional career was equally distinguished, spending 36 years as a sales manager at Prudential Insurance.

“An Honorable And Blessed Man”

A man of many passions, George cherished time with his family above all else. He found joy in fishing, hunting, camping, and long car rides. Western movies, especially those starring John Wayne, held a special place in his heart.

Preceded in death by his parents and sister, Jean.

George is survived by his beloved wife, Pat; his children, Randy (Barbara) Gadd, Cheryl (Randy) Thompson, and Bryan (Davi) Gadd; seven grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and many others who joined the family through marriage.
