Glenn Evan Oleson

June 4, 1942 - October 1, 2025

Glenn Evan Oleson, 83, passed October 1, 2025, in St George, Utah after a lingering illness. Born June 4, 1942 to Horace and Virginia Wheelwright Oleson. He grew up on a farm that straddled the boundaries of West Point and Clinton in Northern Utah. Glenn learned to drive a tractor at age 5, farm work was a part of his daily life. He graduated from Davis High in 1960 and served Mission to Canada. He obtained a degree from Weber State University in electronics, and started his own business, Oleson Radio & TV Repair. He married Lynne Gaisford on February 14, 1964. Glenn built a home on the family farm. He did most of the carpentry and brick work himself. He was employed at Hill Air Force Base, where he worked until his retirement. He was industrious and a hard worker; he continued to worked on the farm in additional to his employment at HAFB. Glenn was inventive and could fix anything and build anything he needed to have. Glenn was always willing to help anyone in need.

Glenn married Karen Thomason on November 4, 1989 and they moved to Southern Utah to pursue his dream of always wanting to live there. He loved reading, country music, camping, traveling in his motor home, and exploring the red canyons and cliffs he loved near his home in Hurricane. He loved just going down a country road to see where it went. He recently remarked that he'd had a good life, gone halfway around the world, and seen unbelievable sights.

Glenn was preceded in death by his parents and his wife Karen. He is survived by his sons Kenneth (Heather) Oleson of Payson, Utah; Scott (Sunny) Oleson of Seoul, Korea; Mark (Kirsten Fletcher) Oleson of Bend, Oregon; step-son Christopher D. (Melanie) Cowdin of St. George, Utah and his sister Doris (Douglas) Bateman of North Ogden, He has 14 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
