Gloria Lynne Agar passed away Sunday, September 20th in St. George, Utah. Born December 10, 1942, in Oakland, California.

Every day as a child Lynne and her sister, Lonnie, would go to Wonderland swim park and swim every day all summer long as children and teenagers. Lynne also enjoyed time with her mom, dad and sister going camping in the mountains. Lynne grew up and was raised in Fresno, California. In grammar school, she was the valedictorian and attended Clovis High. Lynne loved roller skating at the local roller rink with her sister as teenagers and going to the sock hops together. Lynne always worked hard as a young woman and was goal oriented from day one to plan ahead for her future.

She is survived by her husband, Jim Agar, and their blended family including her daughter, Gia Biglione from a previous marriage, and 2 granddaughters, Gianna Nadin and Sofia McCurry; her 4 stepchildren, Stephanie Meyer, Deborah Janzen, Amanda Jones, and son Matthew Agar; 9 step grandchildren, Britz Elia, Ariele Elia, Khan Meyer, Chandler Meyer, Ashly Galli, Josh Hinton, Ian Hinton, Caitlyn Janzen, and Kalena Agar; 5 great-step grandchildren, Jaxon Hinton, Hunter Galli, Liberty Galli, Lincoln Galli, and Ezra Baptiste.

Lynne Retired from South Western Bell in 1998 after 34 years. She began in the wonderful world of Pacific Bell, aka Ma Bell, AT&T, and then South Western Bell. Lynne’s adventure extended from responsibilities as a cashier, service representative in both the business service center and the residence service center and was quickly promoted to business office supervisor.

After retirement she enjoyed many world travels and cruises with her husband.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Bonnie Faye Leslie, and stepfather Charles Cornelies Leslie, and father, Elmer Contanz.

Lynne was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many capacities. She enjoyed helping others and always had a smile on her face.

An evening viewing will be held Thursday night from 5:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary, 110 South Bluff Street, St. George, Utah. Services are held the following day on Friday, September 25 at Spilsbury Mortuary. The viewing will start at 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. with the service following at 11:00 a.m. A private burial service will be held in Fresno, California at the Fresno Memorial Garden for family members only.
