Just shy of her 100th birthday, Gwen Reid Josie, 99, of Salt Lake City, Utah, returned to the presence of her Father in Heaven on 10 June 2026.
Gwen was born on 22 July 1926 to Parley Reid and Casidy Tanner Reid in Myton, Utah. She learned the value of hard work on the farm she grew up on, and it stayed with her throughout her entire life.
In September 1948, she married her beloved Jack Clinton Josie, and together they raised 5 children.
Gwen loved family walks and gatherings; fostering relationships with those she loved was something she prioritized. She enjoyed reading and completing word puzzles. As a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her religion was important, and she went to the temple as often as she could.
Gwen is preceded in death by her husband, Jack Josie, and Nicholas Drew Goris, a great-grandson.
She is survived by her children: Janet (Stephen) Clark, Patsy Green, Sandra Cook, Jonie (Scott) McAfee, and Annette (Gary) Cox. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren.
