James Ivory Beckstead left this earth on July 3 2026 peacefully at home surrounded by loved ones. He was born to Roy and Merlyn Beckstead April 25 1958 in Murray Utah. He proudly served 15 years in the National Guard. He married his high school sweetheart Brenda on August 11 1993. He loved to tell jokes, shoot his guns and spend time with his family. Jim retired from the Utah Transit Authority as a bus driver. Through his career there he made many friends. Jim was a good hearted man that just tried to make everyone around him smile. He spent the last part of his life with his little dog Ruby. He treated her like she was his baby.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents, wife Brenda Beckstead and his sisters Mary I Ruth, Irene Beckstead, Margaret Anderson and nephew John Ruth
Jim is survived by his brother Roy (Sherry) Beckstead, sister Jolynn (Mark) Rowberry, Brothers in law Butch (Mary) Ruth and Dave (Margaret) Anderson. His two sons Chris Braun, TJ VanBeuge. His grandchildren Ivy, Bella, Dakota and Daylin. Many nieces and nephews, cousins and extended family.
The family would like to thank South Salt Lake FD and Paramedics and Elevation Hospice for the love and care they showed for Jim. We would also like to give a very special thank you to Quinn Richins and the members of BNI, Golden Triangle chapter for the hard work and donations to remodel Jim's home.
