With deep love and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of JaNean Taft Dowland, age 64 of Koosharem, Utah on May 12, 2026. JaNean passed away after a long and courageous battle with cancer.

Born on June 2, 1961 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Michael and Dianne Taft. JaNean married the love of her life Tom Dowland on December 3, 2014. JaNean lived a life defined by compassion, strength, and quiet grace. JaNean had a big kind heart, and a way of bringing people together. JaNean left a lasting impression on all who had the privilege of knowing her. Everyone she met became her friend.

JaNean loved life and adventure; fishing, hunting, all animals, road trips on the Harley, riding the side by side, watching the wildlife, beach life, shopping, country music and Mexico.

Above all, JaNean cherished family. She is lovingly remembered by her husband: Tom, son Robert - Rocky Taft (Michelle) who was her pride and joy. Brother Bill Taft (Hope),

Grandchildren, Gage, Ashton and Chanae, great grandchildren Kloie, Ryker G, Rex, Ryker H, Tatum, Halsey and Lainey on the way, devoted niece Laci Gentry, and several aunts, uncles, cousins and too many friends to count. Their lives are forever touched by her love, kindness and generosity.

JaNean was preceded in death by her dad Michael Taft, grandparents; Vern and Utella Taft, and William and Dorothy Thiese. Though our hearts are broken, we find comfort in the memories we hold and the legacy of loveJaNean leaves behind. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered.

A celebration of life will be held on Saturday, May 30th from 11:00 - 1:00 at
