Janet Irene Baisch

Aug 9, 1939 Nov 14, 2025

Janet Irene Isaak Baisch passed away peacefully in her home, surrounded by her family, on November 14th after a short battle with acute myeloid leukemia. She was born on August 9th, 1939, in Sterling, Idaho to parents John and Louise Isaak. She is preceded in death by her husband, Gerald Frederick Baisch, and her son, Randy Jay Baisch. She is survived by her children: Mike (Richelle) Baisch, Robyn (Terry) Mackay, Russ (Christina) Baisch, Shauna Butler, and Tiffany Baisch (Randy); as well as her 18 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren, with three on the way.

Janet and Jerry were married in 1958 and shared many great years together. They enjoyed antiquing, going on motorcycle rides together, and supporting their children in the various activities they were involved in, including school events, sports, and racing. Janet had a knack for starting home renovation projects while Jerry was out of town.

When Jerry passed away unexpectedly in 1992, Janet took over the mantle and served as the matriarch of the family. Her house served as a hub, safe haven, and gathering place. The garage never actually had a real car parked in there, instead serving as headquarters of Baisch Bros Racing. She enjoyed hosting everyone for the holidays, monthly family parties, and sleepovers with her grandchildren (who always looked forward to burnt bacon, toast, and Tang in the morning).

Janet was extremely talented in anything hands on, quick to teach herself skills such as electrical, dry wall, tiling, and furniture restoration. Janet’s passions and skills undoubtedly influenced her children and grandchildren’s own talents and interests- whether it was home or furniture renovation, woodworking, arts and crafts, or anything creative. She loved projects and was always up for a challenge- her work ethic was unmatched and she gave everything 110%.

Her greatest challenge and legacy was a family cabin, something she dreamed of shortly after her husband passed away. Janet purchased property near Mount Pleasant, Utah in 2008 and began building in 2009. Countless memories were made as a family constructing the cabin from the ground up, and Janet was always there to snap a picture of it (oftentimes with Mike, Russ, and Randy threatening to squash her camera if she didn’t get out of the way).

Janet loved working on the cabin, but even more, she cherished the time it allowed her to spend with her family. Family was her number one priority in life and she cared deeply for her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Her love was unconditional- she supported everyone in her family through their struggles, challenges, and triumphs. She was extremely kind and inclusive to family friends, always making them feel welcome. She was the anchor, magnet, and glue of the family. Her impact is immeasurable and she will be deeply missed by everyone that was lucky enough to call her a friend, Mom, and Grammy.
