Our beloved Son, Brother, Grandson, Nephew, Cousin, friend and so, so much more died suddenly of a pulmonary embolism on April 12, 2025, at just 34 years old. Jared James Schelin was born on May 3, 1990 in Salt Lake City. Jared was a very special soul and will be dearly missed by those close to him. Although you left us way too soon we know you are on to bigger and better adventures.
Jared went to Kearns High School and later studied Anthropology at Salt Lake Community College. He was fascinated by ancient cultures and could explain the beliefs of most every religion. He owned his own detailing business and could make the old look new again. In his childhood he could do anything. Things like BMX racing and skateboarding came natural for him. Even as a young adult he could pick up any instrument and just play it, He always amazed his Dad who could not learn and practice to play the way Jared could naturally.
Later in his life Jared took up drone photography, He dreamed of starting a business using his flying skills.
“Love like it’s your last day.”
We would like to express our deepest gratitute, sympathy and love for Kierstin Martinez. The two of them shared a very special relationship for many years.
Four years ago Jared got his best friend “Buddy”, a tiny standard Poodle puppy. Now a giant. Jared and Buddy never parted. He trained him, learned to groom him and loved him unconditionally. Jared and Buddy had a very special bond, it may sound silly to most of us humans, but no one understood Jared the way Buddy did, and vise versa.
Jared did have major stugggles in life. Crippling anxiety ruled most of his days for several years and challenged his abilty to truly articulate his amazing spirt, intellect and talents. Anxiety at this level is real. If you love someone who is suffering, believe them, try to understand them, and empathize.
He leaves behind his heartbroken parents Steve and Julie, his Brother Stephen, Grandmother Joyce Davies and many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and friends.
Until we meet again over the rainbow, we Love You Jared
A celebration of life will be held at Starks Funeral Parlor on 3651 South 900 East from 6:00 PM-8:00 PM on Tuesday April 22nd. 2025.
