Jasmin Kathleen Peterson

Jun 28, 1995 Nov 22, 2024

Jasmin Peterson was a light unlike any other. She departed this world after a brief and powerful battle with cancer. She was just 29 - a life lived too short, though hers was a life lived with great integrity, kindness, humor and commitment to the causes and people she loved.

Jasmin is survived by her parents, Tim (Jessi); Mistee (Ben); her sister, Savanah (Tyler & Goldie); her partner, Dustin; her dog, Leroy; her step-siblings, Andrea, Dylan and Colton, and a tribe of friends, cousins, aunts, uncles, her beloved Grandmothers, Diane and Kathee, and her great-Grandfather, Gary.

Jasmin was kind without effort, which was woven into her purely and beautifully. She called her family every day. She called her aunts and grandmas, just to check in on them. She was deeply passionate about meaningful projects at work that helped others feel seen and cared for. In the midst of battling cancer, she wrote a prospectus to honor a business her Grandma had long dreamed of creating.

Jasmin was funny without effort. In fact, she was hilarious. She laughed freely, a sound that anyone who had the privilege to hear it can no doubt close their eyes and hear so clearly.

Jasmin was helpful without effort. It was simply who she was, and her thoughtfulness was truly unparalleled. She died from GIST cancer, an exceedingly rare disease and her particular mutation was rarer still. Her organs were too ill to donate, but Jasmin’s legacy will live on, as her beautiful eyes are being donated to a person in need. Her body and illness will be researched, and the knowledge will assist in the treatment and healing of others. Her helpfulness and kindness are truly without end.

Jasmin loved adventure. She was happiest in nature. She loved being at the river, whether on a boat or fishing on the bank. Jasmin loved the Oregon coast and the Utah mountains and desert. Her dog, Leroy, and her fiance, Dustin, were her frequent and faithful adventure buddies. Jasmin traveled in the US, Mexico, UK, Switzerland, France, Germany and Italy. She was curious in such unique ways, wanting to experience local desserts and liqueurs on her travels.

Jasmin exceeded expectations in every work environment. She wanted to selflessly make everything even a little bit better. She went above and beyond in all she did. The outpouring of sentiment and memories in the wake of her death have provided a loud testament to her character and enduring legacy.

Jasmin Kathleen Peterson was born on June 28,  1995 and died on November 22, 2024. Though the loss of Jasmin is immeasurable, so is the love and light she gave to us all.

A celebration of Jasmin’s life will be held on December 2, 2024, at Publik Coffee Events Center (975 South West Temple in Salt Lake City) from 1:00 pm-4:00 pm. Celebration of Life service will take place 1:00-2:00; open house 2:00-4:00. Jasmin’s passions will be celebrated at this location with coffee and cocktails.
