Josephine Marie Martillaro Dell

Josephine Marie Martillaro Dell was born in Salt Lake City Utah on October 14, 1932 to Joseph and Rosalie Martillaro

She passed away on February 29, 2024 at home surrounded by her family .

Josephine, better known as Shosh was a beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, cousin, and friend.

Her family was everything to her, and there was nothing she wouldn’t to do for them.

Josephine attended and graduated from West high school. After high school, she met the love of her life Gordon Dell they were married on March 1, 1954. Together they had four children, Sheryl, Christopher, Joey, Paul, they also raised their two grandchildren Tosha and Chase.

Growing up people would call Josephine Capra which is Italian for goat because she was always climbing things even in her old age you would go to her house, and she would be up on the countertops cleaning the cupboards. Josephine was a devoted Catholic and a proud Italian. She loved cooking and baking, especially around the holidays. If it was a cold day or someone was sick, she would make “The soup” Josephine was a kind, generous, loving soul who will be greatly missed.

She is survived by her children Sheryl Eccles (Butch), Christopher Dell, Joey Dell (Debbie), Paul Dell, Grandchildren Tosha Dell (Shaymen), Chase Dell(Vanessa), Chance Eccles, Brother Sam Martillaro, 9 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews.

She is proceeded in death by her husband Gordon Dell, Parents Joseph and Rosalie Martillaro, Brother Kelly Martillaro and Best friend Honey.

Her memory will live on through her great grandchildren Talia, Areyon, Shaya, Shia, Joseph, Seria, Pila, Kiaran, and Vincent.

A Celebration of Life will be held Saturday, March 16th, 2024 from 3:30pm-6:00pm at the Northwest Community Center located at 1300 West 300 North, Salt Lake City, Utah 84116.
