Julianne "Julie" Evans Seal

Jul 2, 1951 Jan 7, 2026

Julianne Evans Seal passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, after a life defined by devotion, creativity, and strength. A lifelong member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, her trust in the Lord guided her decisions, shaped her service, and sustained her through both joyful and challenging seasons of life.

Julie was born on July 2, 1951, at LDS Hospital in Salt Lake City, Utah, to Marianne and Robert Evans. She was raised in the beautiful Garden Park ward, where she developed a deep love for home, family, and community. She graduated from East High School and went on to attend the University of Utah, where she earned a Bachelor’s degree in Nursing in 1974.

Julie met her sweetheart, David Seal, and their first date took place on July 4, 1973. They were engaged a few months later on October 21, and married soon after, being sealed for time and all eternity in the Salt Lake Temple on March 18, 1974. They built a life centered on family, faith, and love. They especially enjoyed traveling together and were fortunate to visit many countries over the years.

Julie found her greatest purpose and joy in being a wife, mother, and grandmother. She gave herself fully to those roles, teaching her children through both expectation and example. Her home was a place of order, warmth, and welcome. There was always room for family and friends, especially at Sunday dinners. Her yard bloomed with flowers, reflecting her love of beauty and the value of work.

Creativity was woven into every part of Julie’s life. She was a gifted seamstress and artist, known for her patience, precision, and attention to detail. Many family members and friends treasure her quilts, cross-stitch pieces, knitting projects, and handmade cards. Throughout her life, Julie’s hands were rarely still. She was often holding a baby, a craft project, or her scriptures which was a reflection of her nurturing spirit and steady faith.

Julie dedicated 33 years to her profession as a registered nurse, viewing her work not simply as a career but as a calling. She cared for others with skill, compassion, and calm confidence. Often working night shifts, she ensured she could remain present for her children during the day, supporting their needs and activities and creating a home filled with consistency and love. In one of the great blessings of her life, Julie was able to help deliver 12 of her 18 grandchildren, beautifully uniting her roles as nurse, mother, and grandmother.

Julie had a gentle sense of humor and clear preferences. There were some things in life she clearly DIDN’T like including pinochle, cucumbers, watermelon, asparagus, contention, and cancer.

She met life with humility, gratitude, and courage. In her later years, Julie faced significant health challenges. She met these trials with resilience and unwavering faith, supported by her family and anchored by her trust in the Lord. Throughout her life, she was unfailingly kind and generous in spirit; her family cannot recall her ever speaking unkindly of another person.

Julie loved deeply, served willingly, and remained steadfast in her commitment to her family and her Savior. She will be remembered for her faith, her creativity, her nurturing heart, and the steady strength with which she lived her life.

Julie is survived by her beloved husband, David; her siblings Paul (Gail), Mark (Clair), Carol, and Jim (Marti); her children Jonathan (Afton), Matt (Courtney), Mike (Leslie), Jenny (Eric), and Brian (Jessica); 18 grandchildren; and two grandchildren-in-law.
