Karla Thompson (Moss) Cannon, 91, passed away on June 4, 2024, at her home in St. George, Utah. Born December 20, 1932, to Eliza Josephine (Stephenson) Thompson and George Carlyle Thompson, Karla was the eldest of four children. She completed her schooling in St. George. Karla married Erwin Clarence Moss on October 23, 1950, in Tacoma, Washington where he was stationed on active National Guard Duty at Fort Lewis. Before Erwin left for the war in Korea, they were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on December 20. They had four children before Erwin died in 1973.
Karla was a lifelong member of the LDS church, serving faithfully in all her callings. Karla was a wonderful mother and homemaker. As a widow, she was successful at supporting her family by selling products from a number of companies. She was a talented artist but took computer classes as a young mother and turned to writing, spending much of her life writing journals and doing genealogy on the computer. She was a member of the Daughters of the Utah Pioneers.
In August 1986, Karla married a school classmate, Lloyd Cannon. They lived in Kearns for a year before moving back to Dixie. They enjoyed traveling the world, gardening, and serving in the temple. They served a full-time mission to Adam-ondi-Ahman.
Most of all, Karla loved and treasured every moment with her family, who will forever be privileged to call her mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt, and sister. Her legacy of love will live on.
