Kendall Rosell Swenson (Kenny) passed away peacefully at home on August 29, 2026, at the age of 63. He was born March 28, 1963, in Salt Lake City, Utah to Don and Nola Swenson.

Kenny was the youngest of four children growing up in an idyllic family, during a time when kids were free to roam and develop a love for adventure and the great outdoors. He was an amazing natural athlete in his youth and a gifted mechanic as he got older. If it had an engine Kenny could make it run. He especially loved motorcycles and could ride with the best of them.

He loved dogs and animals of all kinds and was a kindhearted man. He was quick to lend a hand when he could and was always looking for ways to help those less fortunate than himself. His witty sense of humor brought laughter to all at the most unexpected times.

Kenny lived life on his own terms. He was never one to follow the easy path or simply follow the advice of others, preferring instead to march to the beat of his own drum. That independent spirit was part of who Kenny was throughout his life. Kenny seemed to have nine lives, and a talent for putting every one of them to the test. Late in life he experienced a near death adventure that forever changed him for the good. He taught his family and loved ones the true meaning and power of unconditional love in a way only Kenny could.

Through it all, Kenny chose his own path. He didn’t pretend to be someone he wasn’t, and he never spent much time trying to live according to someone else’s expectations. Kenny was Kenny through and through.

In the end, he left this life peacefully and on good terms with the people who mattered most to him. He was loved by many. He will always be remembered for his daring and fearless approach to life. He lived an authentic life that was unmistakably his.

Kenny was preceded in death by Don B. Swenson (father). He is survived by Malinda Catherine Peterson “Minnie Sue” (daughter), Catherine Ann Peterson (former wife), Isaac Walker (son-in-law), Mason Kendall Peterson (grandson), Harmony Katrina Walker (granddaughter), and Rayla Grace Walker (granddaughter), Nola Swenson (mother), Mike (brother) and Kris Swenson, Karen (sister) and Kent Whitehead, Doug (brother) and Sheri Swenson.

Kenny leaves behind family and friends who loved him, countless memories and stories, and probably a few mysteries of his own. He will be deeply missed, especially by those who knew him best and loved him most.

Kenny will be laid to rest at a private family service at the Salt Lake City Cemetery on September 5th, 2026.
