LaRae Viertel Davis

Nov 10, 1937 Oct 16, 2022

LaRae Viertel Davis passed away peacefully with her loving husband, Ron, by her side on October 16, 2022. She has returned home to her Heavenly Father and will be joyfully reunited with many loved ones and friends. LaRae was a gentle, kind and caring person. She brought joy and happiness into the lives of those who had the privilege of knowing and loving her.

LaRae met her sweetheart, Ron, when they were both 6 years old. He held her hand on the way home from school because he thought she was so pretty. Later, in high school they started dating after Ron’s best friend and LaRae broke up. While they were dating, they enjoyed dancing together and continued to dance throughout their lives. After high school, they were married and sealed in the Manti, Utah Temple.

LaRae was very talented and spent much of her life using those talents in service to her church and her community. She had many different church callings but serving in the primary was her favorite one. This makes sense because as her children and grandchildren know, LaRae had a magical way with children. She knew how to get down on their level and pull them into wonderful worlds of fantasy! She also told the best stories! Her love of children also led her to serve in the local schools where she served as a PTA president. She went above and beyond to create educational experiences for the children. Above and beyond was the way that LaRae did everything!

LaRae loved decorating her home and creating a warm environment for her family. She eventually turned this passion into a successful interior design career. LaRae was a skilled interior designer and helped to design and decorate many beautiful homes throughout Utah.

LaRae kept busy serving and decorating but nothing was more important to her than her family and her faith. She was very devoted to her family which not only included her own husband, children & grandchildren but to her extended family as well. She spent countless hours hosting family bridal showers, baby showers and holiday events. She adored her family and thoroughly enjoyed caring for them. She told endless stories about how much she enjoyed caring for her younger brothers and sisters and about how much she loved her precious babies.

LaRae was truly a handmaiden of the Lord. There was no question that she loved Him. She was blessed with unwavering faith and enjoyed learning of Him and serving Him throughout her life.

We will all miss LaRae. We will cherish the memories of her laughter, her beautiful smile and her cute sense of humor. We say goodbye for now but only until we meet again.

LaRae is survived by her husband, Ron, children Linda (Gary), Brad (Lynne), Kevin (Allison),

grandchildren, Steve Ferry, Melissa Madsen, Nathan Davis, Natalie Neff, Dallin Davis, Sydnee Davis, Dawson Davis and Jace Davis. LaRae was preceded in death by her parents Don & Maudella Viertel and her older brother Jackie.
