Lee Warren Cox

Jun 21, 1953 Apr 13, 2025

Lee "Warren" Cox passed away peacefully on April 13, 2025. He was born on June 21, 1953, in St. George, Utah, to Lee Warren Cox and Minnie Ann Nielsen Cox. On June 25, 1975, Warren married the love of his life, Trina Kay Marley, in the Manti Utah Temple.

Warren was raised in St. George by his loving parents until the age of four, when his father passed away. From a young age, Warren brought joy and mischief to those around him. A fond memory often shared is of him teasing his older sister by placing toys back around the house just after she had cleaned, grinning all the while. When gently scolded and reminded that they needed to help their mother, he paused and replied, "Yes, but I need to tell you something... You're not going to be a very patient mama one day." That clever charm never left him.

A few years later, his mother married Frank Hawkes, who helped raise Warren and his sisters in a home full of love, laughter, and practical jokes - most of which were led by Warren himself. He had a deep love for sports, horses, family, friends, and above all, his Savior.

Warren attended Dixie High School, where he held the state record in the 100-meter dash, graduating in 1971. He attended Dixie College before serving a mission for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Initially called to Dublin, Ireland, he was later reassigned to the New Mexico-Arizona Mission. There, he served among the Navajo, Hopi, and Taos peoples, developing a deep and lasting love for Native American communities - something his mother always said would be part of his journey.

After his mission, Warren moved to Salt Lake City and attended the Dental Technology Institute, becoming nationally certified in dental technology. In 1975, he married Trina, and in 1976 they moved to Ridgecrest, California, where he opened his own dental laboratory. Over the years, Warren also dabbled in several other business ventures including satellite, cable, and construction.

Warren was a devoted servant in his church, serving in young men presidencies, the high council, bishoprics, and as a branch president. He was equally passionate about civic duty, serving on the Ridgecrest Planning Commission for the past 10 years.

Above all, Warren loved life. He cherished his family, found joy in service, and shared his infectious humor and light-hearted spirit with all who knew him.

He is survived by his loving wife, Trina of Ridgecrest, CA; their children: Lee (Julie), Aubri, Brad (Lisa), and Amber (Eric); and their grandchildren: Lee (Katelyn), Cam (Jessica), Sadie, Brielle, Crew, Marley, and Weston. He is also survived by his sisters, Carolee (Leon) Hall of Enterprise, UT, and Sally (Gary) Blosch of St. George, UT, Brother in law Clyde (Shannon) Marley of Rigby, ID along with many adoring nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ann and Lee, his bonus dad Frank, and brothers-in-law Roger Osness and Wade Marley.

The Cox family would like to extend heartfelt gratitude to the Dixie Hospice team, especially his nurse Brittani, for their tender, loving care and support.

Memorial Service is Saturday, May 17, 2025, 2:00 PM at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. 501 N. Norma St, Ridgecrest, CA.

Warren was interred in St. George, Utah, on April 19, 2025.
