Lorene Thomas, 83, passed away on March 14, 2025, in West Valley City, Utah. Born in Salt Lake City, Lorene lived a life woven with love, creativity, and devotion to her family. She found joy in the simple yet profound acts of nurturing, tending to her flourishing garden, crafting meals that gathered loved ones around the table, and sewing intricate designs that carried both beauty and warmth. Her hands were always busy creating, restoring, and giving life to treasures old and new.

An admirer of antiques and restoration projects, Lorene saw value where others might not. breathing new life into forgotten things just as she did with the hearts she touched. She cherished the outdoors, finding peace in camping trips that allowed her to connect with nature and create lasting memories. Her playful spirit was ever-present, known for her teasing ways with Marv, her children, and grandchildren filling their lives with laughter and love.

Lorene is survived by her daughter Annette Hatley; her grandchildren Jenny Gilfillan (Chris Gilfillan), RJ Hatley (Melanie Hatley) and Dalton Hatley (Paige Shults) as well as all of her great-grandchildren and her siblings . She was preceded in death by her beloved husband Marv Thomas, her son Todd Thomas, and her son-in-law Rod Hatley.

A viewing will be held on March 27, 2025 at noon, immediately followed by a graveside service at Larkin Sunset Gardens (1950 E. Dimple Dell Rd (10600 S.), Sandy, UT). There will be a get together with food at Lorene's home (4187 S 4850 W in West Valley City, Utah) following the graveside service.

Lorene’s kindness and generous heart will remain forever in the lives she touched.
