Lynn Reid Frandsen (96) died of natural causes October 6, 2023. He was born on April 13, 1927 in Price, Utah to Royal H. and La Priel Guymon Frandsen. He married Janice Burton on June 28, 1960.
Lynn was educated in Price and enlisted in the Navy in March of 1945, finishing high school by correspondence. As a Yeoman Third Class, he discharged many of the Pacific Theater sailors at the end of World War ll. Following the war, he attended Carbon College for one year and the University of Utah for three years. He worked for Union Pacific Railroad in Price and was a successful farmer and rancher for many years with a family-owned farm in Price and a ranch in Minnie Maud, Duchesne County. After his marriage, he returned to school, graduating from the San Francisco College of Mortuary Science. He worked as a funeral director for 34 years, retiring from Memorial Estates Mortuary in 1996.
A dedicated member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, he served in many capacities including Bishop of the Riverton 4th Ward. He later served two missions with his wife.
Lynn was preceded in death by his parents, brothers Ross and Douglas and son Mark.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years; children John (Margaret) of South Jordan, Lynn (Cathy) of Salt Lake City, Ann Hartley (Loren) of Nampa, Idaho, Reed (Dawn) of Oronoco, Minnesota, Linda Daines (Jon) of Nibley and Ross (Natalie) of Elkridge; 25 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren.
Funeral Services will be held Saturday, October 21, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 360 West 3200 South, in Nibley, Utah. Friends may call one hour prior to services at the church.
Burial will be at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road, West Jordan, Utah at approximately 3:00 PM.
