Marian Gertrude Feil Frost returned to her heavenly home and her dear parents and family who have moved on into eternity on December 29, 2024. She died unexpectedly at her home in the quiet early morning, followed by a beautiful red sunrise. Marian was born May 18, 1938 in Salt Lake City, Utah to Gordon Enoch Charles Feil and Gertrude Marianne Matz. She married Robert Nelson Frost on December 4, 1959 in the Salt Lake Temple.
Marian grew up in East Millcreek and attended the schools in that community. She graduated from Olympus High School in 1956. She learned to play the piano when she was 4 years old. As she began her schooling and advanced into higher grades she would accompany chorus’, plays, instrumental students and singers in their performances. She also learned to play the violin and the cello in her early years. The piano was her favorite and we all will remember how beautiful she played. She also learned to play the organ and played for church meetings all the time. Marian also loved to sing and took some singing lessons during her life.
She loved to work in her gardens at home and loved doing handwork. Her labor of love in her last years of life was her knitting/crocheting for her great grandchildren blankets and sewing/quilting a wedding quilt for every one of her 14 grandchildren to present to them at their marriages. This year before Christmas she gave her last six quilts to those who haven’t married as she wanted to be alive when they received. She worked for many years in her husband’s business and loved seeing it grow and be successful. She was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints and served in many positions. Most notably was the ward organist. Her greatest joy was her children, grandchildren and her great grandchildren.
Marian and Robert served an LDS mission to the St. George Visitors Center and Historic Sites when they were in their sixties. This brought them much happiness and many new friends. While serving in St. George, they made it their permanent residence and lived there for 18 years. Marian fell in love with the beautiful red rock landscape and scenery. She loved the southwest influence in art and Indian artifacts she found while living there and loved God’s beauty all around her.
She is survived by her husband, Robert N Frost and son’s Bradley (Heidi), Jeffrey, David (Kristie), and Stephen Frost (Teresa) and her only daughter Julie Larsen (Drew). She is also survived by her three brothers: Dr. David G. Feil (Margrit, deceased) Visalia, CA., Leslie K. Feil (Dianne) and Leonard M Feil (Lynette) of Salt Lake City, Ut. And one sister, Karen F. Ethington (Bryan) of American Fork, UT. She is also survived by her 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.
