Marion David Steed, age 62, passed away at his home in Colorado City, AZ on Saturday, March 15th, 2025. As the result of a diving accident, he broke his neck on April 23rd, 2023 and spent the last two years of his life as a quadroplegic. He suffered from multiple health conditions as a result, eventually leading to his passing.

Marion was born February 20th, 1963 in Hildale, UT, to Newel Steed and Kloe Young. He was one of his father's 56 children, and his mother's youngest son. He spent his youngest years growing up on his father's ranch near Bryce Canyon, UT, and his school years in Colorado City until he dropped out of 10th grade to go back to the ranch and help with the calving season.

He had a special love for horses, and worked with them for much of his life. He worked at the Bryce Canyon rodeo, worked for several different cattle operations, and also trained horses professionally. He excelled at country life and all of it's activities, including building cow-proof fences, running tractors and other farm equipment, and managing fields of hay, oats, wheat and potatoes. Later in life he spent a decade or so "chasing roads" in a big rig. He then spent a few years building a local pool maintenance business, which he loved.

In 1983, at age 20, he married Doris Jessop, and on April 1st, 1990, after the death of his brother Clark, he married his brother's widow, Marie, and took in her 4 children.

He is survived by his wife Marie Darger, of Colorado City, 10 biological children, and 3 bonus children, namely: Marion David Jr. (Tammy Harker), Randall Jay,Boston Cheryl, Megan Shiree, Warner Newel (Esther Johnson), William Mark (Ashlee Bistline), Woodruff Knight (Holly Pledger), Marguerite Antoinette, Ryan Scott (Keri Nuhailey), Laci Lyn (Garrett Anderson), Virginia Marie (Charles Barlw), Leslie Clark, Christine Dawn (Alan Urness), and his grandchildren, Clark Barlow, Byron Barlow, Marvin Lee Darger Barlow, Natalie Barlow, Leona Barlow, Kayson Steed, Sadie Steed, Monika Steed, Sophia Steed, Axel Steed, Kaiser Steed, Klayton Bullard, and Ryder Horrocks. He has 3 more grandbabies on the way, 11 bonus grandchildren, and 1 great-grandchild.

He is preceded in death by both his parents, multiple brothers and sisters, and his bonus son, Brent Jason.

There will be a viewing for all who knew and loved him on Saturday, March 22nd, 2025, from 4:00 – 7:00 p.m. at Spilsbury Mortuary. A second viewing will be held at 10:00 a.m. the following day, Sunday March 23rd, with the funeral services beginning at 12:00 noon at the same location. Following services, interment will take place in the Isaac Carling Memorial Park in Colorado City, AZ.
