Florence Marlene Olsen Felix passed away September 5, 2022 in Draper, Utah at the age of 88.

Marlene was born March 29, 1934 in Salt Lake City, Utah to F. Henry and Florence Sundstrom Olsen. She attended East High School and the University of Utah. Marlene worked almost 37 years at New York Life Insurance Company and took early retirement at age 55. She then worked 9 years for a New York Life agent.

Marlene was a woman of great faith. While single, Marlene enthusiastically served several missions for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and taught Sunday School where she met the love of her life, Clarence E. Felix. They were married November 19, 1973 in the Salt Lake Temple. They enjoyed many activities, especially ballroom dancing and tennis. Clarence passed away January 11, 1993. Marlene served in several Relief Society presidencies, taught in all the Church auxiliaries and served in several stake callings.

She is survived by her stepsons; Dell C. Felix (Maurine) of Salt Lake City, Bruce E. Felix (Michelle) of Issaquah, Washington, and Scott D. Felix of Livingston, Montana; cousin, Janis Christensen and sister-in-law, Barbara Evans. Although Marlene had no children of her own, she loved and enjoyed Clarence’s 20 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren. Marlene was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and stepdaughter, Julia F. Smith.

Graveside services and burial will be at the Salt Lake City Cemetery, 200 N Street, Salt Lake City, Utah at 11:00 am on Friday, September 9, 2022.
