Mary Hart, a beloved mother, grandmother, wife, sister, aunt and friend, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her husband and family.
Born on January 3, 1954, to Dutch immigrant parents, Mary was a proud first-generation American. She was the sixth of seven siblings. She grew up in downtown Salt Lake, building a childhood rich with love and adventure — from weekend boat trips to cherished summers at Bear Lake. She graduated from South High School in 1972.
She was a devoted mother to three children: Brandan, Travis and Lindsey. Her love for her kids was immeasurable; there was nothing that she wouldn’t do to help them through life. Her quiet strength and fierce determination through the years as a single mom are just two of her many admirable qualities. Mary never let hardship dim her light, she was still so full of life, fun and always had an adventurous spirit and filled their childhood with love, many memories and trips to Bear Lake, Lake Powell, Mexico, Cruises…anywhere warm.
Mary’s greatest joys and loves in life were her six grandchildren: Dagan, Brody, Cameron, Kat, Ana and Kyra. Her love for them was the great force of her life, she poured herself into creating memories with them, taking them on adventures or just spending time with them alone. She proved a grandmother’s love is never-ending.
Later in life, Mary was fortunate to find her perfect partner in Bob (Wilkinson). Together they shared many years filled with love, laughter, travel, and endless adventure — a chapter of life she embraced with her whole heart. With Bob came the bonus of many step-children and step-grandchildren she treated and loved as her own. Their life was rich in love, family and friends.
Mary had a gift for living fully. She loved taking her family away to tropical destinations, spending hours at her quilting and sewing projects, and filling every room she entered with her wit and humor and never took life too seriously. She was always the first to say yes to an adventure and ask where we were going next.
She leaves behind the people she loved most in this world: her husband Bob Wilkinson, son Brandan Moulton, son Travis (Stephanie) Moulton, daughter Lindsey (Curtis) Johnson, sister and best friend Donna (Joseph) Lloyd, brother Auke (Norma) Hart, many nieces, nephews, step-children and step-grandchildren, and her biggest legacy of love, her six grandchildren Dagan Moulton, Brody Moulton, Cameron Moulton, Kat Thedell, Ana Moulton and Kyra Moulton.
She is preceded in death by her parents, John and Adriana Hart, brothers Fred Hart, John Hart, and Dave Hart and sister Rose Hart Spencer.
The family would also like to thank Intermountain Hospice who helped make Mary as comfortable as possible near the end of her life.
