Noel Harmon Lee

Dec 4, 1933 Aug 3, 1924

Noel Harmon Lee. Our Dad, Great/Grandfather, Uncle and Friend passed away August 3, 2024, at home, surrounded by family. He was born December 4, 1933, to Samuel Perry and Bertha Harmon Lee. He was the youngest of eight boys. Before Dad was 5 years old, his mother, Bertha Harmon passed away from cancer and later Chloris Rich married his father. Chloris quickly became Mom and Noel later gained a younger sister.

Dad was sealed in marriage to Marilyn Newsome Lee in the Salt Lake Temple, September 15, 1954. Both Mom and Dad were great examples of love, service, and support to our family and those they met.

Dad was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was very active and worked hard to fulfill every calling he was asked to serve. He served in many callings from Elders Quorum, Young Men’s, Scouting, High Council and Bishop/Counselor. He continued to serve in callings before his passing. He also served in the community as Westside Community Council President. His dedication to serving in the church were a great example to all of us.

Dad worked a lot of odd jobs growing up and liked to tell all the stories of everywhere he worked. Dad served in the United States Air Force working on the airplanes. After the service, with Mom and children Darell and Cindy in tow, he began his career of 38 years working for the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints at Beehive Clothing and Fleet Administration. After his retirement, he filled his time with travel, projects, and family occasions.

Like Mom, Dad was a Do-It-Yourselfer. He liked to work with his hands on anything, specifically mechanical, electrical, and wood. He would take used items and make them like new for Christmas or birthdays. Even after retirement he went from one project to another, large and small. Each family has one or more items he has built or refurbished himself.

Preceding Dad in death are his wife and our Mom, Marilyn Newsome Lee, parents Samuel Perry, Bertha Harmon, and Chloris Rich Lee. His brothers, Wayne, Ruel, Stuart, Claude, Boyd, Dean and Maurice. He is survived by his sister Cheri (John) MacDonald. Six Children: Darell (Noel) Lee, Cindy (Lynn) Peterson, Debbie (Mark) Jensen, Lorraine (Mark) Jolley, Martin (Michele) Lee and Randy (Lourdes) Lee. 33 Grandchildren and 20+ Great Grandchildren and one Great Great Grandson.

We are grateful for the kind care from nurses and doctors at the IHC facility, Cancer Specialists, and Solstice Home Health Care Team. With Dad moving to Stansbury Park, with his daughter Cindy and son-in-law Lynn Peterson, in that brief time the Solstice Team really made the transition for Dad’s health care a blessing to him and our family. Thank You Emily, Stephen, and others. Thank you to Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home for helping to make the occasion memorable and taking good care of Dad.

A viewing will be held at the Valley View Memorial Park and Funeral Home, Thursday, August 8, 2024. 4335 West 4100 South from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.
