Our sweet mother, Norma “Voris” McKinley Kemp (89), passed peacefully into the loving arms of our Heavenly Father with her children by her side on August 31, 2021.
Voris was born May 8, 1932 in Moore, Idaho to Norma Sarah and Arthur Ward McKinley. She married her high school sweetheart and eternal companion, Norvin Lavell Kemp, on October 11, 1950 and they were later sealed in the Idaho Falls Temple on November 9, 1950. She was a devoted and dedicated mother to six children. She was a faithful lifetime member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served diligently throughout her life. She had a firm testimony of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
She enjoyed her posterity and loved visiting with family, wherever and whenever she could. She had a vivid memory of nearly all her life’s adventures and would tell many stories to the grandchildren. She was an example to us all of positivity and compassion, which will forever be her legacy. Those who knew her felt of her love and kindness. She will truly be missed.
With her passing, Voris was reunited with her loving husband Norvin of 60 years, who preceded her in death in 2010, son Larry Lavell Kemp, her parents, two brothers, Avon and Dale, and three infant great-grandchildren. She is survived by her brother Bruce (Sharon) McKinley, sister-in-law Carol McKinley, daughter-in-law Adelina Kemp, and children Brent (Roseann) Kemp, Jeannene (Joe) Williams, Kiel (Maurina) Kemp, Roger (Shelly) Kemp, Annette Kemp, 28 grandchildren, 78 great-grandchildren, and 2 great-great-grandchildren.
A special thank you to the staff at Legacy House of Taylorsville for the care they provided to our mother over the last two years.
