It's with heavy hearts that we announce the unexpected and sudden passing of Paula Marie Bailey Walker on July 12, 2021 at her house in Salt Lake City, Utah.
She was born in Colorado Springs, Colorado on July 3, 1950 to Virgil Bailey and Corene Williams.
She loved spending time with her family and was very active with her church, VFW and the VA hospital. She was an avid reader and loves crocheting and would crochet everything that could possibly be made with yarn and even plastic grocery bags. She was known for her crocheted American flags that she would donate to veterans. She was a skilled fisherman and a lover of nature. She dreamed of being a fishing guide at Strawberry Reservoir. She always carried around extra marbles and rocks. Rocks to keep her grounded and marbles in case anyone else lost one.
She is survived by her two sons:
• Anthony (Danh) and their children, Nathan and Jason
• Andrew and his children, Nicholas and Abigail
However, many people considered both Steve and Paula as their surrogate parents. She was a great friend to many (too many to mentioned by names).
Paula was one of a kind. She was loved by so many. We will all miss her dearly.
Services will be held on Wednesday, July 21, 2021 at the First Baptist Church (777 South 1300 East, SLC).
• Viewing at 10:00 at the church (probably go until 11:45 ish)
• Service in the Sanctuary starting at 12:00 noon
• Followed by lunch for family at about 1:00
Her cremated remains will be buried with Steve at the Utah Veterans Memorial Park Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to First Baptist Church.
