Phyllis Middaugh of Sandy, Utah passed away peacefully at the home of her daughter Vicki Davis on June 19, 2026. She was a cherished Mother, Grandmother, Great Grandmother, Great Great grandmother, Sister and friend. She will be greatly missed.
She was preceded in death by her brother Douglas Muffett, Sisters Marilyn Wright and Jean Warwyzniak.
Phyllis was born in Park City, Utah to Kenneth and Dorothy Muffett. She worked professionally at Sun Photo for over 20 years as an accountant and credit manager.
She was married to Raymond Lee Tapp. Later they divorced. She raised three talented and beautiful daughters. She went on to marry Roy Middaugh. Together they spent their retirement years travelling and exploring America until his passing.
Phyllis was witty, intelligent and fun to be with. She was kind, nurturing and very supportive of her family.
She was a life-long member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and past Relief Society President.
She had a deep love of sports, especially Bowling, Golf, Baseball, and FOOTBALL (big time).
A closed casket visitation will be held Friday on the 26th day of June, 2026, from 12:30 PM to 1:45 PM at Wasatch Lawn Mortuary, 3401 South Highland Drive, Millcreek, UT 84106. Her funeral will follow in the Wasatch Lawn Chapel at 2 PM.
Interment will be in the family plot alongside her parents and grandmother.
She is survived by her sister Sharon Muffett (Jim) of West Valley City, Utah, Daughter Lynn Tapp of West Jordan, Utah, Vicki Davis (Wayne) of Roy, Utah, and Lisa Tapp of White City, Utah. Stepchildren Michelle, Kevin (Stephanie), Craig (Diane) and Tanya (Ron). Eight beloved Grandchildren, Ten Great Grandchildren and One Great Great Grandchild.
